We are unable to prescribe anything further for hay fever, all medications are available to buy over the counter in Pharmacies.

What is hay fever?

Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen. Common symptoms include:

  • 🤧 Sneezing
  • 👀 Itchy or watery eyes
  • 👃 Runny or blocked nose
  • 😣 Throat irritation or cough
  • 😴 Tiredness during high‑pollen periods

Reduce your exposure

  • 🪟 Keep windows closed during high‑pollen times
  • 🚿 Shower and change clothes after being outdoors
  • 🕶️ Wear wraparound sunglasses
  • 👕 Avoid drying clothes outside
  • 💧 Apply a barrier balm around the nostrils
  • 📈 Check the daily pollen forecast

Treatment options

Speak to a pharmacist about:

  • 💊 Antihistamines
  • 🌫️ Steroid nasal sprays
  • 👁️ Anti‑allergy eye drops
  • 🔄 Combination treatments

If you have Asthma

Hay fever can worsen the symptoms of asthma or other respiratory conditions.  Seek medical advice if you notice:

  • 😤 Increasing breathlessness
  • 🫁 Wheeze
  • 🧱 Chest tightness
  • 💨 Reduced response to usual inhalers
