Dear Patient,
I am sure you are aware that the NHS is under a huge amount of pressure. We are very proud that, to date, at Hadwen Health, we have managed to limit the impact of the pressures on the service we provide to you. This is down to the incredible effort and hard work of our team and the understanding from our patients.
Unfortunately, we have recently had 2 members of our clinical team take long-term sick leave. This includes a GP and a Practice Nurse. A further GP has just started maternity leave, and another is starting maternity leave soon. We have recruited cover for one maternity absence, and they will start working for us in August. We had already recruited a new, permanent GP and they are starting at the end of August. Both of the new staff members will need an induction and it will take some time for them to get up to speed. We had recruited for the second maternity cover however that has fallen through.
We continue to try to recruit locum cover, but this is proving difficult. Over the next couple of months, our capacity and appointment availability will reduce. We are sorry that this may impact you.
Over the next few weeks, you might be contacted by us as we need to re-arrange your appointment. If you contact us, we will have less availability to offer to you and there may be longer waiting times for routine care. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to you. Please be assured that we are still able to see hundreds of patients every day and our urgent cover will not be affected.
If you need urgent care, please continue to contact us in the normal manner. It is very important that you do not delay contacting us if you have serious concerns.
If you do find that you need to contact us over the next couple of months, please be kind to our staff. We are all working hard to provide the best care to you that we can. Our Patient Advisers may not be able to offer you an appointment, but they will tell you what we can offer and may sign post you to a suitable, alternative service.
If you have access to the internet, you might be able to find help and resources online to support you. Our website has lots of information and links to services you can refer yourself directly to, without the need to see a GP. This might be more convenient for you. Please use our website for more information www.hadwenhealth.co.uk/services/
We are sorry that our service will be different this Summer. We hope to resume our normal level of availability and care as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
The Partners
