  • Dr Sue YoungMB ChB 1990, DRCOG, MRCGP
    I qualified from Leicester University in 1990. I spent a year working in Australia before joining the local general practice training scheme. I became a partner in the practice in 1996. I am interested in all aspects of General Practice I am particularly interested in Women’s health.
  • Dr Robert EstelrichMB BCh, MRCP, MRCGP,DFFP
    I started as a partner in August 2002. I graduated from Cardiff in 1994 and have worked in hospitals in both the UK and Australia. I have an interest in diabetes having worked in the field for several years.
  • Dr Sonya Naish MBChB 1998 MRCGP DTM&H DGM DCH DFFP
    I graduated from Birmingham University in 1998 and continued my training locally in Gloucestershire. I joined the practice in July 2004 as a partner. I have an interest in contraception and sexual health issues. I am a Trainer for Doctors in training for General Practice. Outside of work I enjoy swimming and working in my garden. I am the Lead GP for the Health Garden project.
  • Dr Chris Hewer BMedSci, BMBS (2006), DRCOG, DRFSH, MRGCP
    I graduated in 2006 from Nottingham University. I continued working in Nottingham for a further 6 years before joining the practice in November 2012. I enjoy most areas of General Practice and have a particular interest in family planning. I also perform joint injections. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, going walking and cooking.
  • Dr Ruth Thompson MA (Cantab) MBBS MRCGP DRCOG DCH
    I graduated from Cambridge University and then King’s College London in 2009. I completed my GP training locally in Gloucestershire in 2014. I enjoy all of general practice but particularly elderly care.
  • Dr Tara Hunt BA(Hons) MBBS MRCGP
    I trained at University College, London and qualified in 2003. I have been a GP since 2010. I am a generalist – enjoying all areas of general practice. I am particularly interested in mental health and medical education. My family and I recently moved to Gloucestershire where we are now settled.
  • Dr Alexis Wain  – BMBCh MEng (Oxon) MRCGP
    Originally an Engineer in the Royal Navy, I returned to Oxford University to retrain in Medicine. After qualifying I worked across the South West before moving to Gloucestershire for my GP training. I became a Partner at the Practice where I trained in Cheltenham before moving to join the Partnership at Hadwen. My specialist interests are in minor surgery and skin ‘lumps and bumps’.
  • Dr Sarah Hitchen MBChB DRCOG MRCGP
    I studied at The University of Birmingham, graduating in 1997. I have worked in both the West Midlands and Manchester before returning to my home of Cheltenham. I am interested in all aspects of general practice and have an interest in women’s health. I joined Hadwen Health in October 2002.
  • Dr Kathryn Hayman MRCP MRCGP DRCOG DFSRH
    I graduated from Bart’s and the London Medical School in 2004. I spent several years doing hospital medicine before joining the GP training scheme in Banbury and qualified as a GP in 2009. Having grown up in Gloucester, I returned to my roots when I joined Hadwen Health in July 2014. I am particularly interested in musculoskeletal medicine (including joint injections) and also minor surgery.
  • Dr Alex Ferguson MBBS MRCGP DCH
    I studied Medicine in Newcastle and graduated in 2009. I worked in The North East of England for 2 years and and a year working in South America I moved to Gloucestershire train as a GP. I became a GP in 2015 and have been working locally since. I’m interested in all areas of medicine but Palliative Care in particular. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and taking our dog for walks in the countryside.
  • Dr Jo Girdler – qualified as a GP from Bristol in 2015, Following on from my graduation with Honours from Southampton Medical School and 2 Foundation years in Bath (and one in Australia!).
    I have worked as a GP in Bristol and Gloucestershire and have been at Hadwen for the last 4 years. I am a generalist but hope to develop an area of special interest when my children are older. I enjoy keeping fit and playing netball, walking our corgi and spending time as a family.
  • Dr Caroline Hindley – MB ChB, DFRSH, MRCGP
    I graduated from the medical school at the University of Birmingham, going on to spend my junior doctor years working in Wales and Liverpool. I spent a year working in Australia in emergency medicine, before returning to Gloucestershire to complete my general practice qualification. I have a keen interest in paediatrics and medical education.
  • Dr Tiffany Vracas – MBChB MRCGP
    I graduated from the University of Manchester and continued my medical training in the North West. I then completed some specialist training in Acute specialities including Emergency medicine in the South West. I realised I had a desire to get to know my patients and provide them with ongoing care and support and started my Training in General Practice in the Gloucestershire area. I completed my final year of General Practice training at Hadwen Health and enjoyed my time here so decided to continue as a General Practitioner with the Surgery. I am spending some time working as a generalist whilst exploring further specialisation opportunities to complement my work with the surgery.
    Outside of work I enjoy getting out into the wilder places of Britain to enjoy the wonderful landscapes and views that we have.
