Covid-19 Autumn Boosters
Eligibility:
- Residents in a care home for older adults and staff working in care homes for older adults.
- Frontline health and social care workers.
- All adults aged 50 years and over.
- Aged 5 to 49 years in a clinical risk group, as set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
- Aged 5 to 49 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression.
- Aged 16 to 49 years who are carers, as set out by the JCVI.
Covid-19 autumn booster vaccinations will again be given this year at the Rosebank Hub in Stroud Road. Invitations will be sent by text to those eligible patients that have a mobile number on record; an appointment will then be able to be booked by using the link within the text message. For those patients that we do not have a mobile number on record, we will send an invitation by letter. Appointments will be available to book from 17th September, and invitations will be sent in order of highest clinical risk as recommended by the JCVI.
Patients may receive a separate invitation from the Covid-19 national programme. This invite will offer you appointments at other locations not managed by Hadwen or the Rosebank Hub.
Flu Vaccinations
Eligibility:
- Those aged 50 years and over.
- Those aged six months to under 50 years, in clinical risk groups.
- All children aged two or three on 31st August 2022 not in a clinical risk group.
- Pregnant women.
- Those in long-term care homes.
- Carers
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals.
Flu vaccinations will be given at our surgery in Abbeydale. There will be three Saturday flu clinics held on 8th October, 22nd October, and 5th November. Invitations will be sent by text to those eligible patients that have a mobile number on record. For those patients that we do not have a mobile number on record, we will send an invitation by letter. Appointments will be available to book in line with our flu vaccination deliveries, and eligibility.
We appreciate a common question that may be asked is ‘why can I not have my Covid-19 and flu vaccinations at the same time’. NHS England regulations specifically stipulate that we must not delay giving either vaccination once it is available to be offered. Covid-19 vaccinations will be available from 17th September, however our first flu vaccination delivery will not be until w/c 3rd October. Conversely, flu vaccinations will be able to be offered to some of our lower-risk patients before their Covid-19 vaccination is available.
We are able to offer flu vaccinations at our surgery this year, Covid-19 vaccinations will continue to be administered at the Rosebank hub as the infrastructure and resources remain in place there for this to happen.
To help us manage demand, please wait for your invitations for your Covid-19 and flu vaccinations to be sent to you in the coming weeks. Please do not contact the surgery unless you meet the eligibility criteria and have not received an invitation by 31st October.
