A message from Dr Sarah Whitham to her patients:
“I know it is a long time since you have seen me in surgery, but as I have finally retired on ill health grounds. I wanted to send a message to all the (my) patients I came in contact with.
Several years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and I worked for as long as I safely could, but eventually I knew I could no longer look after my patients to the standard I wanted to, so I took early retirement.
I think of all of you with fondness and hope you are all doing well. I miss the comradery of my colleagues and there isn’t a day when I don’t think about how much I loved my career as a GP. I enjoyed being part of your lives and I hope I made a difference.
